______________________________________________
The course being a 47 mile Cycle from Glencoe to Taynuilt by Loch Etive followed
by a 10 mile canoe up the remote Loch Etive to the bottom of Glen Etive which is the
start of the 13 mile run climbing 1000ft to the finish back in Glencoe.
Having now developed into a very popular event, (the first overseas entries were
welcomed from Ontario Canada in 1997), comprising both Solo and Relay team
entries we are limited, for safety reasons, to some 80 competitors on the course at any
time.
The event is all about having a good weekend based around the Glencoe Hotel,
raising monies for the charities, over £189,000 has been raised for Cystic Fibrosis and
Cancer Research, and we have a good post event party on the Saturday night.
47 Mile Cycle, 10 mile Canoe and 13 mile Run, Relay and Solo entries are welcome!
Glencoe Village has good campsites, b&b and some Hotels.
A video of the 1997 event is available for GBP11 inc. post and package, which may give
you a better insight as to what it is like on the day.
