After three years of construction work the bridge to Skye was opened on Monday 16th October 1995. The bridge is a high TOLL bridge, and many people in Skye and beyond are engaged in a campaign to attempt to have the toll regime ended. They have joined together in a group called SKAT (Skye and Kyle Against Tolls). Any enquiries regarding the bridge can be made to: The Crossing Centre, Skye Bridge, Kyle, IV40 8BG. Tel: 01599-534880. |
